2021 Sienna/Venza Early Efficiency Scores
For the first time ever, Toyota is making its minivan a member of the hybrid family. The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine will be attached to the Toyota Hybrid System II. It will produce a net total of 243 horsepower while also being able to achieve a combined 33 miles per gallon in the city and on the highway.

The 2021 Toyota Venza uses a similar base powertrain that will be mated to a trio of electric motors to allow the vehicle to produce up to 219 net horsepower. Early projections from Toyota say that the 2021 Venza will be able to achieve as much as 40 combined miles per gallon, at least for the base LE trim. There may be some differences in other models.

Do these vehicles need to be plugged in?
Both the 2021 Toyota Sienna and 2021 Toyota Venza can be driven for short distances using only stored electrical power. However, owners won’t need to have costly equipment installed in their homes or workplaces. The battery system can be charged through the normal course of driving or braking.
