Serra Supports Boys & Girls Clubs with $15,400 Donation

For over 30 years, Serra Toyota of Decatur and the Serra Automotive family have proudly supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Alabama. In the early 1990s, Tony and Steve Serra played a pivotal role in helping launch the club, and the mission has remained close to our hearts ever since.

Steve Vincent Serra had a deep passion for giving children a brighter future. He believed in the Club’s mission to support young people, especially those facing challenges, in becoming responsible, caring adults. One of his favorite quotes, from former Club member Denzel Washington, truly encapsulated his values:

“If you want to change the world, start by changing the life of a child.”

This wasn’t just something Steve said—it was how he lived.

Though we sadly lost Steve in 2023, his vision continues to inspire our efforts. We’re excited to announce the future development of the Steve Serra Boys & Girls Club in the Decatur area. The location has already been chosen, and zoning is in progress. This new facility will play a critical role in shaping the lives of local children for years to come.

But our commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs didn’t end there. This year, we revived our Dingers for Dollars campaign in partnership with the Birmingham Barons. For every home run the Barons hit, we donated $200 to the Boys & Girls Clubs. Thanks to an outstanding season by the team, we were able to contribute $15,400 to support programs that have a lasting impact.

This year’s campaign united the community with a common goal: to carry on Steve Serra’s mission of lifting up children through meaningful support.

We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs. Together, we’re investing in a brighter future for our community, one child and one home run at a time.

We know Steve would be proud to see the positive impact his legacy is creating.
