The headlining change to the 2018 Tacoma is that the truck will now include the Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) suite of safety systems as standard equipment on all models. Toyota has also discontinued the 5-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed manual will still be available. This engine produces 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. In addition to the four-cylinder engine, the Tacoma will offer a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that increases the performance numbers to 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with the V-6 engine and the available Tow Package, the 2018 Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 pounds. 2018 Tacoma models are available in six trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited and TRD Pro. Two cab types will be available, the extended Access Cab and the four-door Double Cab. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive systems are available. 60.5-inch and 73.7-inch bed lengths are offered.
