2018 Toyota Tacoma Engine Performance and Features

Additional updates to the Tacoma for the 2018 model year include a grille update to the SR and SR5 trim levels, a darker mesh for the TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road models and an updated grille and new black leather-trimmed interior for the Tacoma Limited trim. Toyota has also discontinued the 5-speed manual transmission. The 6-speed manual will still be available. While changes to the Tacoma have been made, the 2018 model continues to hold up the standards set by the previous models. The 2018 Tacoma will continue to offer the two engine options that have powered previous versions of the truck. The first engine offered will be a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine produces 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. In addition to the four-cylinder engine, the Tacoma will offer a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that increases the performance numbers to 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. When equipped with the V-6 engine and the available Tow Package, the 2018 Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 pounds. 2018 Tacoma models are available in six trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited and TRD Pro. Two cab types will be available, the extended Access Cab and the four-door Double Cab. Two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive systems are available. 60.5-inch and 73.7-inch bed lengths are offered.
