When Will the 2020 Toyota Highlander Be Released?
Toyota has debuted the latest addition to the brand’s lineup at this year’s New York International Auto Show. The 2020 Toyota Highlander made a splash at the auto show with its chiseled new design and amplified features. The five-trim lineup, which includes the L, LE, XLE, Limited, and Platinum models, will offer both gas and hybrid powertrain options. 2020 Highlander Engine and Power Specs
Shoppers will be able to choose between a V6 or new-generation hybrid powertrain for their 2020 Toyota Highlander. The Highlander L model will be limited to the gas-powered powertrain. Gas-powered Highlander models will offer a manufacturer-estimated 22 combined mpg and hybrid options will earn an estimated 34 combined mpg. The 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood of gas-powered models will generate 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Models equipped with the Toyota Hybrid System will feature a high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two electric motors. This setup generates 240 horsepower and offers an estimated 34 combined mpg.
Features and Design in 2020 Highlander
Highlander L and LE modes come standard with two rear bench seats, making room for eight passengers. The XLE and Limited come standard with two Captain’s Charis in place of a rear bench, offering seating for up to seven passengers, but both give shoppers the option of replacing these with a bench seat for more seating. The Platinum trim comes exclusively with the two Captain’s Chairs. The Highlander comes standard with an 8-inch touchscreen display and offers a 12.3-inch display in the Platinum trim, which is the largest multimedia display in its segment. Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, SiriusXM®, Waze, and Amazon Alexa compatibility come standard in the 2020 Toyota Highlander.
2020 Toyota Highlander Release Date
The 2020 Toyota Highlander gas model and hybrid model will make their debuts onto the automotive market at different times. The 2020 Highlander gas-powered model will be available starting in December of this year, while the hybrid version of the 2020 Highlander will roll out in February 2020.
