The Toyota assembly plant in Alabama recently cranked out its 4 millionth engine at its Huntsville plant. The Huntsville, Alabama plant hit the milestone on the their four-cylinder engine. In addition to four-cylinder engines, they also make V6 and V8 engines as well.
Toyota pride and craftsmanship go hand in hand
- The engines made at the Huntsville plant can be found in the Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Tacoma, Venza, Tundra, and Sequoia.
- The Huntsville plant has cranked out 1 million four-cylinder engines, 1.3 million V6 engines and 1.7 million V8 engines since 2003.
- If you lineup the engines built in Huntsville the last 12 years front to back, it would stretch from Huntsville to Las Vegas.
- Around 2,500 engines are built every day in the plant and 710,000 engines every year. Do you know the horsepower of 4 million engines? We can estimate that horsepower over 1 billion! That’s enough to launch 29 space shuttles.
The Toyota plant just down the road has distinguished itself as one of the top Toyota plants in the world. The plant is the only one in the entire global corporation that produces four-cylinder, V6, and V8 engines under one roof, making it one of the largest Toyota engine plants on the planet.
In addition to its impressive engine output, the Huntsville plant is one of two designated “model sustainable plants” in North America, quite fitting for a plant to produce vehicles of a similar nature! The Toyota Camry and RAV4, both produced at the plant, combine great efficiency and sustainability! Being able to provide a highly reliable product and one that fits the needs of car buyers, is something we take pride in at Toyota of Decatur.
The lineup of vehicles at Toyota of Decatur can serve pretty much any need under the sun. Need something fuel efficient? We’ve got you covered with the Toyota Camry or RAV4 Hybrid. The all-new 2016 Toyota Tacoma will turn heads when it arrives this fall, refreshed for the first time in years!
