Farmer’s markets are a great way to support the local community, socialize with your fellow community members, and enjoy the nicer weather. This year round market is the perfect place to go walking and shopping in the nice weather and pick up some seasonal produce on your way. Attached to the farmer’s market is a flea market! You can enjoy both from 6am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.
Seasonal produce for the month of March includes asparagus, carrots, cauliflower, collard greens, fava beans, green onions, scallions, herbs, kale, lettuce, pecans, spinach, strawberries, and turnip greens.
The Birmingham Botanical Gardens have spring blooms in session! During this month, there are a number of blooming flowers that you can enjoy. During this month, the tulips begin to open! You can also enjoy daffodils, forsythias, lenten roses, native azaleas, wildflowers, pansies, and redbuds. What a better way to step into spring than with a stroll around the Birmingham Botanical Gardens?
