What is the Supra 2.0?

As advertising collateral for the 2021 Toyota Supra rolls out to various media platforms, potential customers will see a lot about the Supra 2.0 which is not necessarily what you may think it is. The Supra 2.0 is the new Supra entry-level trim grade that will have a twin-scroll turbocharged 2.0-liter, inline four-cylinder engine under the hood. It will be attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and will produce 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.

Just because the new Supra 2.0 model doesn’t make as much horsepower as the top of the line version, should buyers feel they are getting slighted on real-world performance output. The new engine will be able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in five seconds flat, according to Toyota. It will also feature the same electronically limited top speed as the top engine option.

Will the 2021 Supra 3.0 be more powerful?

It’s rare for the second production year of a vehicle to get the performance boost found in the top trims of the 2021 Supra. The twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter, inline six-cylinder engine will produce up to 382 horsepower (+35 horsepower from the 2020 model) and as much as 368 pound-feet of torque, which is also more than was made last year.

What is the Supra A91 Edition?

Toyota produced a limited run of Launch Edition Supra models when it debuted last year. The automaker is doing something similar for 2021. Only 1,000 A91 Edition Supra models will be produced. It will feature the 3.0-liter engine and be available in two color schemes, Nocturnal and Refraction. The Refraction is exclusive to the A91 Edition Supra. It will also offer several premium elements like a black rear carbon fiber lip spoiler, matte black wheels and exclusive badging.
