Alabama Hot Air Balloon Jubilee Classic
When: Memorial Day – May 23-24, 2015
Where: Point Mallard Park – Decatur, AL
Launch your Memorial Day Weekend with the hot air balloons at the Alabama Jubilee Hot Balloon Classic. There’s a lengthy schedule events found here on the Alabama Jubilee website. The Memorial Day event at Point Mallard park will be filled with hot air balloons, music, and a ton family fun. Come celebrate the unofficial beginning of summer with the opening of the brand new Point Mallard Water Park.
Mammoths and Mastodons Exhibit
When: May 26
Where: U.S. Space & Rocket Center – Huntsville, AL
The new exhibit, Mammoths and Mastodons, opens on May 26 at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville AL. Travel way back in time and experience what it was like to walk next to a real Wooly Mammoth! This is exhibit is free to those have paid their museum admission fee.
Memorial Day Ceremonies
Tannehill Civil War Reenactment – May 26-27 in McCallla AL
Admission is charged for this event. The camp opens at 9 a.m. and the Civil War reenactment will take place at 2 p.m.
Veterans Remembrance Ceremony – May 27, Ft. Mitchel AL
A ceremony will be held at the flag pole in Ft Mitchell Nation Cemetery. A remembrance ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
Memorial Day Ceremony – May 28, Tuscumbia AL
This free ceremony begins at 11 a.m. which honors all former and current veterans. Flag ceremonies will honor men and women of the armed forces at Reed-Harvey Park.
