This holiday is one of our absolute favorites, and in honor of this day, we’re putting together our list of the best haunted houses and Halloween 2017 activities near Morgan County to get you in the proper mood for Halloween!
This 50,000 square-foot entertainment complex has it all. It is one of the largest haunts in Alabama, but it isn’t for the faint of heart. This haunt only admits children above age 12. Before you head out to this haunted house, you should know that this experience is very hands-on. You could be pushed, grabbed, or touched by the actors. It is a thirty-minute, intense experience built for the bravest of thrill seekers.
Take a trip to the Manor this October and experience a bit of paranormal activity. Columbia Manor takes you back in time to meet with former residents and popular friends who have returned from the dead to haunt the hallowed halls of the mansion.
Haunted House of Horrors
The Haunted House of Horrors is made up of a 40,000 square-foot facility that features a full night of entertainment and fright. The doors open at 6:00 PM. You can expect run-ins with the undead, including a few zombies. There is no age minimum here, but we recommend you use caution. This haunted house may not be appropriate for all ages.
Arx Mortis takes its name from a Latin phrase, which means “The Castle of Death.” It blends three experiences wrapped into one big complex. The rating of this haunted experience is PG-13, so use caution before taking any younger family members to this experience.
Darkwood Farms Walking Dead Maze
Both a haunted house and a haunted trail, you get to experience both with your admission price to Darkwood Farms. It takes about ten minutes for both experiences. This attraction opens at 7:30 PM and discounts are available with the donation of a canned food item.
Haunted Lester Hospital
This site was the former D.E. Jackson Memorial Hospital that served the Lester, AL area. It opened in the early 40’s as a clinic and has been shrouded in reports of paranormal activity since its origins. There have been many patients pass through the halls of Lester Hospital, and rumor has it that some never left. Lester Hospital closed in the early 90’s but employees have long talked of strange occurrences within walls of the old hospital. The site will once again open its doors this Halloween to become the Zombie Attack spook house. Enter at your own risk.
