What’s New for the 2020 Toyota Tacoma?

Returning for 2020, the Toyota Tacoma brings back the same revered trim level and engine lineup with some minor but exciting changes. The 2020 model brings in a flood of interior feature updates complemented by an aggressive exterior design. Read on to learn more about what new features you can expect to find on the 2020 Tacoma.

2020 Toyota Tacoma New Features

A major pain point for Tacoma enthusiasts, the pickup has long been restricted to 4-way manually adjustable seating. The 2020 model ends the wait for more comfortable seating with a new 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support.

Infotainment System

For 2019, the base Tacoma SR model comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen. In the 2020 lineup, the SR will get upgraded to a standard 7-inch touchscreen. All remaining trim levels on the 2020 Tacoma get boosted to an 8-inch display. The new multimedia system comes lined with hard button controls on each side as an alternative to the touchscreen controls. For the very first time, the Tacoma will also be introducing Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Amazon Alexa compatibility to the infotainment system.

Exterior Design

With striking design changes to the front grille and headlights, it’s clear Toyota designers wanted the 2020 model to stand out from Tacomas of the past. The upcoming model trades in the vertical weave pattern of previous years for a more robust-looking horizontal weave pattern. Viewed head-on, the new angled headlights give the pickup an aggressive, scowling appearance. The 2020 Tacoma casts a glare in more than one way, now offering LED bed lamps, fog lamps, headlamps and daytime running lights on various trims.

TRD Pro Tuning

Topping the Tacoma lineup, the TRD Pro receives updated tuning to the standard FOX shocks for the 2020 model year. This can be expected to bring improved ride comfort and off-road performance.
