The 2017 Toyota Avalon is going to come standard with the Toyota Safety Sense-P package. Advanced safety systems included in this package are the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. All trims will also come standard with the Star Safety System, which includes safety technologies like Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, the Anti-lock Brake System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist and Smart Stop Technology.

2017 Toyota Avalon passive safety features
Along with the active safety features listed above, the 2017 Avalon has a variety of great passive safety features, designed to mitigate the effects of a collision. Passive safety features include the Advanced Airbag System, which has 10 total airbags, Whiplash-Injury-Lessening seats, 3-point safety belts for all seating positions, the LATCH system, front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones, side-impact door beams and an energy-absorbing collapsible steering column.
